President Judge Corry Stevens will host three seminars next month to help explain the workings of the Superior Court of Pennsylvania to members of the media.

Stevens also recently launched a Superior Court Media Information Page to provide quick access to documents related to high-profile cases and other cases of media interest.

The idea for the informational sessions germinated during the judge’s dealings with reporters covering the Jerry Sandusky sex abuse case at Penn State.

“During my discussions with reporters on Sandusky filings, it came to my attention that many would like to be more familiar with the Superior Court, especially with the many high profile cases percolating right now,” Stevens said.

Stevens said he will explain panels and decision making, and that court department heads also will be present to discuss the prothonotary’s office, central legal staff, reporters office, technology office and administrative offices.

The 90-minute sessions are scheduled for:

• Pittsburgh – September 5, 10 a.m., Supreme Court courtroom, 8th Floor, City County Building
• Philadelphia – September 18, 10 a.m., 17th Floor, Penn Mutual Building 6th and Walnut
• Harrisburg — September 24, 10 am, Supreme Court courtroom 4th Floor, Main Capitol
