January 16, 2013
The ACLU has filed a First Amendment lawsuit in federal court against the city of Philadelphia. The case arose after a Philadelphia policeman cited a man for disorderly conduct after he used a cell phone to record police interacting with juveniles on a public sidewalk.
The ACLU is seeking damages as well as an injunction preventing similar actions by the police.
